American will bring Starlink to all mainline aircraft, including Airbus narrowbodies and Boeing narrowbodies and widebodies, with installations beginning in early 2027. It plans to equip more than 1,000 mainline aircraft with Starlink's Performance Aero Terminal, which can deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps per terminal.
American announced the installation of Starlink on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft beginning in Q1 2027, updating the Wi-Fi offering on its fleet of more than 500 Airbus aircraft including new A321XLR and A321neo deliveries.
In January 2026 American began rolling out free inflight Wi-Fi for AAdvantage members, sponsored by AT&T and powered by Viasat and Intelsat: more than 900 mainline aircraft are equipped, covering 100% of its narrowbody and dual-class regional fleets.
