British Airways equipped five aircraft before pausing installs in June 2026; they are expected to resume in October 2026, and Starlink is free in every cabin on equipped aircraft. The IAG deal (announced November 2025) covers 500+ aircraft, including Aer Lingus and Iberia.
British Airways paused Starlink installations after equipping just five aircraft (G-ZBJA, G-ZBJI, G-ZBJJ, G-ZBJK and G-ZBJM) since the rollout began in March 2026. The airline says installations are expected to resume in October 2026 after the busy summer season, because the programme is aligned with scheduled maintenance, and that the technology will reach its whole fleet of more than 300 aircraft over roughly two years.
British Airways says Starlink is available to all customers, in every cabin, free of charge, and that its entire fleet of more than 300 aircraft will have it within two years, covering its long-haul and short-haul fleets but excluding BA Cityflyer.
British Airways was the first UK airline to install Starlink; its first equipped aircraft, Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJJ, was due to fly BA197 London Heathrow–Houston on March 19, 2026.
IAG announced a partnership to implement Starlink-enabled high-speed Wi-Fi on Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, LEVEL and Vueling aircraft, more than 500 across the group, with the first aircraft due to go live in early 2026.
